Property (May 2025) – covers legislative provisions (including the June 2025 amendments), a run through “what’s in and what’s out of the pool of assets”, introduction to assessing contributions, introduction to current & future circumstances (the old future needs), just & equitable concepts, “clean break” principle, intro to assessing reasonable range of settlement. Companion animals reforms, practitioner’s obligations, settlement options, introduction to court process and what’s required when filing an application / response, as well as a summary of key reported decisions. The attendee will have a foundation understanding of the property jurisdiction. Feedback has been that this session gave them far more than their family law content at University provided.
